Got up 4am, ready and packed the night/weeks before. Left at 5am.
On the road, my gosh it was an amazing feeling to say the least. We got to the freeway, just outside of Brisbane city.. Woahh, the wind in my hair..! It was still dark, barely any stars though, with the light pollution and all. It was funny, for once the lack of star’s did not bother me, I guess I knew there were going to be plenty to view throughout my trip.✯ ✯
We decided to do a one hit wonder the first day. Drive a straight 9 hours to get to Newcastle nice and early-ish. My partner decided that we should make a stop a long the way.. My first Driver-Reviver..
It may have been only instant coffee and powdered milk.. But it was AMAZING ✯
The feeling of pulling up to revive with the other drivers on their trip, exchange stories, learn about where we are going next.. Awesome Experience.! I felt like a real traveler..!
From there, each coffee stop I see, I stop..!
Billy (my partner) has driven past Newcastle a fair few times but has never stopped in to say HELLO, so it was going to be a new experience for both of us.! Which I though was great for our first stop. (♥‿♥)
We arrived. Even though it was the longest drive I had done to that date, I was still so energetic once I got there.. The thrills of being on the road..!
We decided firstly to go straight to the city and see what’s up with NC..! The street art there was beautiful, This stuff had heart, all of it had a deep meaning (In my eyes).
Checking out the sights, looking at the people.. Walked past this shop with Nag Champa pouring out of it, “have to go in” said my nose. Within a second of me being in that special little boutique I found a pair of pants made in Nepal that the store lady had brought back herself. Bright orange, green waist band with special writing and beautiful art up the sides.
These are now my favourite pants and when wearing them, I will always remember My First Day on My Adventure.!
After a day of shopping and looking around, it was campsite finding time..!
Now, Billy and I don’t like to do the norm, so finding our first campsite was allot of fun..
We parked in this little secluded street, up a hill that had a walking path into the bush right near it..
Locked the car, back packs on, off to find our home for the next week..
After about 40 minute downhill walk, we found this perfect patch of grass looking out to a secluded part of the ocean. “Found it” we said..! Without wasting anytime, we ran back up the hill and got everything we needed, Tent, chairs, pillows, blankets, food, cooking utensils etc.. It was a mission to carry it down, but once we did, our temporary home was ready.!
This ^^ is it..! It was so beautiful going to sleep with the sound of the ocean, and waking up too the look of it..! As you can see, it was a tad windy and we could only bring our small tent and tarp down to the spot, but we dealt with it and loved every second of it.!
Just before we left we had a massive walk on the beach. There were little sea snail colonies everywhere.. Actual little towns, homes, restaurants made by these snails located in the rocks around the ocean.
It was a magnificent sight.
I knew from there.. There was going to be a lot more beauty to be seen with these eyes over the next year.!
After our stay in our secluded camp site, it was time to move onto Sydney.
Now, one thing I learnt on pack up. What come’s down, must go back up.! I think we had to stop 5 times on the way back, carrying all the stuff to the car, Haha it seemed so much easier on the way down (♥‿♥).
SOoo Newcastle.. Quiet, small, beautiful, arty.. I would love to go and spend a bit more time getting to know the people there.. Next trip.
Thank-you Newcastle, you are grand.!

Sidenote: Clean up every campsite.. You don’t know what little animal is gonna camp there next.!
